Hey,
I don't visit this forum much, and looked for a post on the encore, but couldn't find one. So, I was wanting to know pros and cons about the encore from any owners or others that know about the gun. I really like the design, and how you can interchange barrels, and I have seen I don't know how many hunting shows where they use them. However, I realize T/C sponsors most of those shows, so i don't know if they are just that great, or if they mearly use them so T/C will give them money! I am wanting a slug gun, and a new muzzleloader as well. Apart from that, I would like to get a 22-250, so, I thought I might be better off purchasing the encore, and then only having to purchase different barrels (and possibly a different foregrip). I am no gun expert, so that is why i am coming to ask you guys! I need a new muzzleloader, and I REALLY want to try some hunting with a slug shotgun as well. soooo.. What do you think? Thank you in advance for your time to come and answer my questions!

The Encore is amoung the best interchangable barrel firearm you can buy. The quality is pretty darn good and TC offers very good service and a good selection of barrels. The Tc custom shop can deliever about any caliber you have ever heard of and maybe some you have not. They are not real cheap as the barrels average about 240.00 retail. There are often a lot of barrels for sale on Ebay and there are many aftermarket manufactures of barrels and other components such as custom stocks and forearms and other goodies. I have long been a user of the TC Contenders and have just jumped into the Encore this year. As long as you check into the cost of adding the other barrels so you are not supprised by the cost, I would say jump in. I don't think you would be disappointed. I am going to be looking for a 7mm-08 pistol barrel and a 260 rifle barrel as well as the 50 caliber muzzle loader barrel. The one I bought has a wood stock and came with a 45-70 barrel. I wany the synthetic stock for beating around in the truck and the brush. I may look around on the after season sales at gun shops and just pick up another Encore with the synthetic stock and muzzle loader barrel. That would give me an extra reciever as well as the barrel and synthetic stock. You can get barrels up to and including the 375 H&H Mag although the recoil in that light gun might be fierce.
Good luck and good hunting.

Yeah, what James said.lol As you can figure by my screen name, I'm a big fan of the T/C's. With the versatility of the Encore, they can't be beat. I have 2 pistol barrels, two rifle barrels, the .45cal BP barrel and the 12ga turkey barrel and love all of them. Its just my opinion, but with only one trigger(same frame for all barrels) and only one shot, it makes you a better hunter. The initial cost is a little steep, but once you have the frame, buying another barrel is much cheaper than buying another gun. Service is excellent, accuracy is good to great and there's pretty much no end to the available calibers for it.

I'm a big T/C encore fan too. I have an encore with a 209x50, 24" 22-250, 24" 30/06, and a 18" 45/70. IT is an awsome gun for versility and for portability. I really like it because all of my barrels are accurate, and shorter and lighter than a boltgun with the same length barrel. It is nice to have a couple of barrels along when you are flying out somewhere to hunt. Its a lot easier than taking a full 2 gun rifle case. THat extra room comes in handy when your flying in a small plane. This is my encore with my 30/06 barrel.

hey g-dawg i love mine only two things i'll knock it on, the trigger was really tight, and the lever to break open the action, if you spend any time on a four wheeler or hoofing it this thing just seems to dig into your back[:@], but i can live with that...
209X50 ml
260 rem
7mm mag
7mm-08 15" pistol
all four shoot great, a really fun gun

the trick to keeping the encore from diggin into your back is to move the rear swivel stud to the side of the stock isntead of the bottom. This allows the rifle to rest more on its side than deep trying to dig into you.

I used the synthetic stock on mine until I got the 45/70 barrel. Recoil is fairly stout with heavy loads with that light stock. The laminated stock makes it a easier to shoot off the bench because of the extra wieght in the stock. I got my stock at E. Arthur Brown for a good price, they are having a sale on them.

, but I would still appreciate any replies!
