Wondering how good this gun is. A couple people I have talked to really like it. I have shot a Rem 870 for years & just have a hard time giving it up but would like to go to the 3.5" shells. My buddies shoot Win SX2's but the $$$ on those are about $250 more. We are hard on equipment it will get wet, muddy, in the freezing rain, snow you name it. Just wondering if anyone has used this gun the way I'm going to. THANKS

I've shot 100 rounds thru one. I have a Franchi 612 which is the 3" model. It's been a great gun so far. They are very reliable and easy to clean. The quality is just slightly less than th "B" guns. The 912 is a big feeling gun similar to the Beretta Xtrema. In the 3 1/2" models it's one of the top five models. Where in that top five depends on each person. The SX2's are very good models also. a $250.00 difference in price sounds high to me.

That's good to know. I just bought one for $699 at Scheels. Had a tough time passing up an 1187 super mag, but I just gotta try one of these Italian jobbies without forking out the $1100 for a SBE.

Franchi,Benelli,Beretta and Stoeger are pretty much the same co. I'd stay away from them for a few reasons. Thin barrels "whip" and don't pattern all that good. I haven't heard of anybody using them without buying a bagful of aftermarket chokes to get decent patterns. Lets not forget the famous customer service, or lack thereof. Waiting 3 months for a replacement barrel doesn't work for me.Just one example of poor cs.Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $$ on the X2.
