Default Franchi AL 48?

Hi. I saw a Franchi at a gun shop. It was 12 guage, semi auto. Model is AL-48. It was a fixed choke barrell in modified. The guns shouldered very well for me and swung nicely. shape was decent. Being a fixed choke, I assume it is an older model but is in good shape. They were asking $379.99. Is this a good shotgun? How about the price?
Thanks guys and gals!

That price sounds a bit steep to me for the older model with fixed choke. They are short recoil operated and have reputation for being good shooters. A main strongpoint is the fact that they are very light and a dream to carry on a long day of rabbit or game bird hunting. You can always have it machined for screw in choke tubes but why bother as the later versions already come that way from factory.
