FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I BROUGHT MY MOSSBERG 835, I SIGHTED IN WITH 2.75" LIGHTFEILD SLUGS, AND I WAS SHOOTING GREAT!!!!! WHEN I WAS DONE AND CLEANING UP THE EMPTY SHELLS & BOXES I READ THE SIDE OF THE BOX AND IT SAID " DON' T USE IN RECIVERS THAT ARE 3.50" WHICH IS THE 835. WELL I CALLED LIGHTFEILD THEY SAID THERE IS SLIM CHANCE THE SLUG CAN GET HELD UP. SO I TRIED THE LIGHTFEILD 3.50" SLUG THATS LOADED TO 3" SPEC. WELL I' M SHOOTING GREAT AGAIN, AT 2" HIGH AT 50YDS.

I have a winchester 1300 speed loader with a 24 inch rifled barrel and shoot 2 3/4 inch winchester partition golds. I sighted in 2 inches high at 50 yds and the slugs are still about 2 - 3 inches high at 100 yds. I try to limit shooting beyond 100 yds due to the fact i shoot open sights. i used to use a scope but the one i had broke right before the season and i didn' t have time to send it back to the manufacturer before the season started. If you want a good hard hitting slug try the partition golds out, they pack a wallop but are worth it. I shot a deer on a drive today, i was posting and he came trotting by at about 20 yds and when i shot it looked liked the deer got hit by a car because he got knocked right off his hooves and never got back up. Good luck with your gun and good hunting.

You did' n' t say what brand you were using. If you look into the balistics of your particular one you may get some answers. For instance 3" rem. copper solids shoot
2.5 inches lower at 100yds are you sure your shooting sabots and not fosters as they would shoot about 8" lower.?

ARE YOU DEAD CENTER AT 50yds? IF SO THATS WHY YOUR LOW AT 100yds. WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS BE 2.50" /3.00" HIGH AT 50yds, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO REACH OUT TO 125yds. OR MORE.
