I have seen a few 16s around.. I am partial to the 410 and the 28.. I have 1 Citori in 410 and 2 in 28... Talk about sweet shooting..

Absolutely love my Ithaca Model 37 16 gauge. Shot my first deer with my father's 16 gauge Ithaca Deerslayer and had been wanting one of my own for a long time. The 16 throws a little bigger chunk of lead than a 20 gauge without the kick of a 12.Besides, I just love the purple shot shells
.

I own a Browning sweet sisteen , rib vent barrel, gold trigger. It is I believe a 1965 or 66 model. It was a gift from my dad, and for years all I ever heard was I needed to get rid of it, cause it was a dying breed .... and that was about 25 years ago and it is still around..... and even growing. The 16 ga. is all around a sweeter gun to shoot than a 12, it is lighter to carry, and it still carries plenty of power. I have used it for quail and duck..... and I am very happy with the results.

As the old saying goes, " Try it , ...... you'll like it ".

God Bless

Michael

I saw an older duck hunter with an 8 gauge in the 1950's. The shotgun was good sized and I recall a solid brass shell about 3" long or so; I was young enough I did not take measurements.

Looked like a cannon.
