Default Remington Mausers

howdy all. i've just been flicking through the latest rem catalogue and want to know if anyone has bought one of the new mauser-action rifles ( model 798,799). if so, how do they shoot? i think i may have heard a while back that they are re-worked zastava's from czechoslovakia. if so, what changes have remington made? if one was determined to have a new mauser action, would it be better to stick with a CZ?

any info would be much appreciated.

The new Remington Mausers are thesame Charles Daly Mausers that were available from Charles Daly up until 1 January 2006. In turn, the Charles Daly Mausers were thesame Mausers that were marketed by Interarms for years as the Mark-X and Mini-Mark-X for years up until the import ban went into effect back in the early-mid 1990's.

I have never shot oneof the Interarms, Charles Daly, or the new Remington Mausers, so I can't say first hand how they shoot, but I have heard they shoot fairly decent. I have used the actions to build several custom rifles and the actions were pretty good to work, and tunred out to good actions to build custom rifles on, with a little fine tuning work.

Yes. CZ has a long history of making the highest quality Mausers, Zastava has a history of well, making Yugos.
