Since there are so many answers about hunting loads for big game, heres a load for small game. take once fired cartridge and put 3 grains of bullz eye powder in and seat a .311" round ball fulsh with the case mouth. dont resize the case just reprime and charge with 3 grains of bullz eye powder and seat the 311' round ball flush with the case mouth and fill all around the ball with bullet lube. this makes a great low power, recoil load for hunting rabbits or grouse.
P.S the case that is used must be fireformed to the specific gun that it will be used in or there will most likly be flashback

Have never shot factory loads so don't know.
My load was 58 grs of IMR4350 pushing a 150gr BTSP Hornady . Worked well on mulies.
I justed worked up a load of 55.5grs of IMR4350 pushing a 180gr Nosler Partition. Will have to wait an see how it does (no doubt as advertised)

you should use one load out of your 30-06. Instead of wondering where the bullet is going to impact, you should know. The is very little a decent 180 grain bullet out of a 30-06 wont kill. Since I have one load, one bullet, one rifle....I know my drops.
i use winchesters 180gr silvertips and i have the drops down pat, last moose i got i shot at about 450 yrds aways, when i go to the range i buys a couple of boxes of silvertips and pratice with them and low and behold the groupings stay the same and i never seem to have to adjust scope or anything (unless of course it gets bumped). having said that, of course i have tried other brands of ammo and found that the next comparible brand to the silvertips is the coreloks, but ever since experimenting other ammo, i have used nothing but silvertips, i love em. just my two cents, thanks for listening.
