I have a Horton EXP I bought in 1989. Looked up Hortons site on the web, did not show replacement string for my bow. So I called their customer service number and they said, they do not make strings for my bow anymore. What they are doing is having people send their bows to them and they put new cable system and a different string on it. At a cost of $60 plus dollars. I know the bow is old but still shoots as good as it ever has. Just disappointing to have to go through all that just for a string.

I still have a string on bow. But its proably 6 years old and stretched. Last time I changed it the old one had stretched all most 2'' longer than the new one. Would probably pickup a little more speed with new string.

The reason they do that is most likley an old hook up to a wheel or a tear drop on a string that the archery industry no longer deems safe. If the bow shoots well, I would go with the $60 and then you will be able to change strings and cables going forward as needed.
