What a loaded question...Depends on a lot of factors...Which brand string...How often the servings are replaced..How often someone waxes their strings..How often they shoot...On average...I get two to three seasons of a decent string...But this is just me..

I make new strings for my bows every year. They don`t always need them, as I don1t shoot some bows that much, but to be safe I change them every year. Back when fastflite was the best string material going, and I shot 3-d all over the country, new strings every 30 days, max! Man, I sure love premium 450!

I make mine too and change them every year. For me it's cheap insurance. I use BCY 450 Plus. I agree with waxing frequently.

Change at least once a year unless you only shoot light poundage and don't shoot until deer season. If you shoot tourneys or pretty much all year, change at least once a year but you can tell when it looks bad. Keep it waxed and it will help.
