Default CB for my son

I shoot a compound so I am not to familiar with the cbs, my son is six, is there a youth cb that would accommodate the shorter arms?

I switched from my Horton to the Excalibur line because of weight, this would be a big factor for your son. The Excalibur is a lot lighter then most Compound CB's IMO. I have not shot it since I own a Vortex, but the Vixen is a nice light and smaller CB. A few big grown men on here have it and kill deer with pass through just fine. Here is a link to a site that has the best prices IMO.

Excalibur 2007 Vixen Crossbow
[EX2095B]

$319.95

Excalibur 2007 Vixen Crossbow.

Producing arrow speeds in excess of 285 FPS, the 150 lb. Vixen is a high performance crossbow that is manufactured with an eye towards economy, but with no sacrifice of quality or durability. Finished in practical and economical Deerhide Brown the Vixen uses Excalibur's patented machined trigger unit and reliable recurve limbs to achieve accuracy that' s not just amazing, it' s guaranteed! Each Vixen features an ambidextrous manual safety, quick detach sling studs and is drilled and tapped to receive optional scope and quiver mounts. The Vixen's shorter, lighter draw and compact size make it a perfect choice for hunters of lesser stature or physical strength while still delivering plenty of power for even the largest of game.

Sorry, but no. My Supermax 175 which is only two years old is what my Dad will be using. My old Supermag 150 I am going to keep as a loaner bow and maybe try to get my brother back into it.

Hate to say this, lol, but you may need to catch Randy, aka 10 pt Crossbow on here. He's the Natl Sales Mngr for 10 pt and they have a model I think it's called the "Pro-Slider that has an adj forearm and also adj poundages, something he can grow into if he sticks w/ it. 10 pts also hold their value if he doesn't care for it next month or next year, lol. There, I said it!![&o]

He's here alot, kinda like a cop, never one around when you need him, lol. He may have read my post and gone into cardiac arrest, as I'm an Excal fan and he knows it. The key words for me and my advice was " six years old". You can find him real quick on 10 pts site: http://www.tenpointcrossbows.com/discussion/category-view.asp Don't tell him I sent you, I've an image to maintain, lol

Thanks Dan, both for the shots and the heads up on this thread.
Hunter,
The slider and pro slider have adjustable front grip and the entire bow assembly moves back in the barrel to make the bow lighter draw weight and makes the balance point much easier for little folks to handle. It has proven to be a very functional for a wide variety of applications. It weighs in at about 6.5 lbs so the weight is not bad.

You can also add a Steddy Eddy to the bow and this will help hold the bow in place so he can concentrate on the shot and not on holding the bow.

Let me know if you have questions.
Randy

Has this been on the market long enough to possibly get my hands on a used one?
Not sure if my wife would allow me to spend the $400 + to get him set up.
