CB for my son

RE: CB for my son
I switched from my Horton to the Excalibur line because of weight, this would be a big factor for your son. The Excalibur is a lot lighter then most Compound CB's IMO. I have not shot it since I own a Vortex, but the Vixen is a nice light and smaller CB. A few big grown men on here have it and kill deer with pass through just fine. Here is a link to a site that has the best prices IMO.

Hate to say this, lol, but you may need to catch Randy, aka 10 pt Crossbow on here. He's the Natl Sales Mngr for 10 pt and they have a model I think it's called the "Pro-Slider that has an adj forearm and also adj poundages, something he can grow into if he sticks w/ it. 10 pts also hold their value if he doesn't care for it next month or next year, lol. There, I said it!![&o]

He's here alot, kinda like a cop, never one around when you need him, lol. He may have read my post and gone into cardiac arrest, as I'm an Excal fan and he knows it. The key words for me and my advice was " six years old". You can find him real quick on 10 pts site: http://www.tenpointcrossbows.com/discussion/category-view.asp Don't tell him I sent you, I've an image to maintain, lol

Thanks Dan, both for the shots and the heads up on this thread.
Hunter,
The slider and pro slider have adjustable front grip and the entire bow assembly moves back in the barrel to make the bow lighter draw weight and makes the balance point much easier for little folks to handle. It has proven to be a very functional for a wide variety of applications. It weighs in at about 6.5 lbs so the weight is not bad.

You can also add a Steddy Eddy to the bow and this will help hold the bow in place so he can concentrate on the shot and not on holding the bow.
Let me know if you have questions.
Randy
