My point of impact never changes. I practice flat and then I stand on the roof of the barn (25 feet) and its the same. I only practice on the barn so that I get used to that looking down feeling. Sometimes that makes me woozey in the stand.

Shooting out of a tree stand, the point of impact will not change but will lengthen from the ground level shot. Remember the old keller swing sights on a compound bow? It didn't change the pin or point of impact, just swung according to the steepnest of the angle, thus lenghtening the point of impact. Easy peasy, japaneasy.

Alot of it depends on how you have your bow sighted. I have mine sighted so I aim lower. My stands are normally between 15-20 feet, I practice out of my ladder stand. When I shoot, I draw my bow at a slight downward angle so that when I am at full draw, im looking through the sights at the deers foot. I theb begin to follow the back of the front leg upwards untill I get to the rear of the"armpit" area of the leg and let it fly. Remember the higher up you go and the closer you are the more you have to compinsate for the angle. Its always best to aim a little lower. Practice from your hunting height and different angles and yardage, this will only improve your shooting performance and give you the confidence you need when that B&C buck comes within 20 yards. Good luck thisyear and remember to practice.

wis.bow hunt.
you are in the CROSSBOW section. not reg. bow section. with a crossbow you don't aim low! it is just like a rifle, by angles. a bow you change the piont of impact on your anchor point, that is what causes the arrow to fly low with reg. bow. not the fasct you are shooting from a tree!
