I was wondering if any of you master chef's out there would be willing to share some of your BBQ sauce recipes. I BBQ all the time and I try to doctor up store bought sauces but they never seem to come out that good. Help!

Try this link...
Allrecipes in the search bar type in "BBQ sauce".
Don't go nuts trying to figure out which ones to try first.
My personal recipe is not written down. It is stored safely away in my head.
just a hint. If any BBQ recipe calls for simmering for a few minutes, make it a little on the runny side. Then simmer for a MINIMUM of 30 minutes, occassionally stirring it.
also, if it asks for salt, use Sea Salt.

you can also try finding the top secret recipes web site ( i think it is www.topsecretrecipes.com but i could be wrong...do a search)....this guy has whole books and online recipes of 'copy cats' of things that you find in restaurants and stores....if you have a particular brand of sauce that you think is close...like kc masterpiece...or something like that. then you can start with that basic recipe and tweak it so it fits your own tastes....that way you already are starting from a good flavored base recipe and when you add those special extras during the cooking it will really taste better than trying to add stuff to the store bought stuff after it has been cooked and bottled....

Here is a quick bbg sauce with stuff you may have in the kitchen.
1/4 cup ketchup
2 Tbs. brown sugar
1 Tb. cider vinger
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and use like any other bbg sauce.
You may have to double the recipe according to how much you need.

The best BBQ sauce I ever made came from the bear roast thread. Equal parts ketchup and chili sauce, a dash of lemon juice, liquid smoke, hot sauce and a couple of tablespoons of grape jelly. TRY IT!
