The absolute best tasting fish is Black Bass. Next, comes Red Snapper soon to be followed by Catfish. Since I am a real fish lover, I'll take Rock fish, Tilapia, Flounder, Chilean Sea Bass, Walleye, and Salmon, as well...

I'm partial to the Striper. Best piece of filet around. Next is fluke, sea bass, and weakfish. When I go out to eat, I try all different kinds of fish, cause it's great trying new ways of cooking it. Steak ? anyone can make a steak, but Branzino or Chilean Sea Bass, Halibut, Red Snapper; the chef can bring a whole new avenue for you to enjoy (or you might not like it at all.) My nephew got some fresh tuna and swordfish steaks, put em on the grill, and everyone loved it, except for me. Just didn't like the texture or the taste. To each his own.

Crappie/bream/catfish/bass from freshwater. Salmon/tuna/sea trout/flounder from salt water. Tilapia, a farmered species has more fat in it than bacon!!!

Best fish I've ever eaten was a Tile fish. They eat mainly crustations so the flavor is like a blend of lobster, crab, and shrimp. But for my catch I prefer Perch over any other fresh water fish.

Panfish is prolly my favorite. But salmon or steelhead cooked on the grill in butter and garlic. mhmm
but it all depends on how it is prepared.
