Sounds like "boneless country style ribs" , actually strips cut from a 2" thick flat roast .
Prepare them on the grill , in a roasting pan , or make shish kebobs . It's a fairly tender cut , slow cooking will literally make it fall apart . I like searing the meat and then crock potting it in bbq sauce for about 5-6 hours at low heat .

10-12 pounds Pork shoulders (whole picknic) are also a fine choice to end up into pulled pork BBQ. Leftovers vacuum pack nicely in the freezer.
Easy:
1) Favorite rub.
2) Smoke with 50/50 mix of Cherry and Applewoodat 180 degrees for 14-16 hours.
3) Pull apart.
4) Be amazed as to how little left-overs you have.
