This weekend being my first bow hunt ever, Im a little nervous and very excited at the same time. I just know I will not sleep very good Friday night.
My question however relates to where the deer will be and when.
There has been plenty of activity where my friend and I have set up stands. We have stands both on the edge of fields and deep in the woods.
My question is, when will be the best times to hunt in the woods and along side the fields? When are the deer usually moving, and which direction are going?
With our hunting grounds nearly 75 miles away, its been hard to find time to go up there and just sit and watch the action.
Do these questions make since?
Any help on this would be much apreciated.

Well, Deer generally move right around or after daylight or right before and during sunset.
We really couldn't tell you which way they'll be going, you'll have to just find that out from being down there.
Just find places where there is signs of deer activity and wait during sun up and go back again during sunset.
Hope this helps a little.

As a general response...hunt deep in the woods in the morning if you can get their without making much noise or going through the field. Generally deer are leaving the fields in the morning to return to the deep woods to bed down for the afternoon.
As for you stands along the fields, hunt them in the evenings when the deer are coming out just before dark to feed in the fields. You'll probaly see mostly does in this field, until right before dark when the bucks will start making their way into the field.
I hope that helps some.
