I would no doubt wait on the big one. More than likely he would make his way to you. The only way I would shoot the smaller one is if the big one left for good and it was the last day of the season. And that means the big one would have to run off in the other direction and I knew he wasn't coming back.

I'd shoot both, then I'd wait there in case another bigger one came along. Next I'd cut off the horns and tag them as does, then go back out for another buck in the morning.

I don't think that would ever be a problem for me - if that first deer was standing around in front of me, I'd surely never notice the deer 100 yards away, I'd be pretty amped about getting the one in front.
