Me and my buddy were hunting on a Wildlife Management Area in central Arkansas. Keep in mind that we are not used to hearing or seeing bucks fighting in this state. We were headed in one morning about an hour before first light. We were walking down this firelane by the game warden's house. On the right is his fence and behind that there is very tall sage grass. My buddy stops ands tells me to listen. I stop and hear two bucks throwin down in the wardens lawn on the other side of the fence behind the grass. I back up because im a wuss anyway. He decides to try to check out the action. These bucks could care less about anything but fighting. My buddy gets closer and closer, finally the fight stops. One buck runs by us at about 60 yards. I was looking for the other one but didnt see or hear it. I few seconds later I hear the old snort weeze. I backed up more because i figured that buck was coming out. And he did. Im sure he didnt know that my buddy wasnt a buck but all I could see were antlers bounce through the sage grass. I guess he got within three yards of my bud before I got the light in his eyes. I saw the thread about funny stories, i wanted to make sure everyone read this. The buck looked like a decent 2 1/2 yr eight point.

PS for the smart guys out there. we had decent light to see from the game wardens street light he has on his check station. couldnt see much though
