I've done it and it isn't that bad at all. Most of all you need a comfortable stand like a Summit. If you have a time when there is not a lot of activity going on, a book or magazine is a good thing to have. I only bring a bottle of water and a couple of candy bars to hold me over till I get home again. It is a lot of fun if you are able to do it, but you have to put your mind to it though and stick with your plan. I've seen some of the best deer ever during the off peak times of day, rut or not. Good luck

My first post in this forum
A few years ago my wife bought me a grand slam climber with the hammock seat and , when I complained that the wind was getting to me she got some real tree type fabric and cut out attachable velcro sides for it.....
I LOVE this thing, I have never been in such a comfortable quiet stand it was the single biggest factor in allowing me to stay on stand all day. I strap in just in case but it would be damn near impossible to fall out even when i fall asleep (which by the way I have never been able to do in my usual seat + platform.
I hunt hard in the morning until about 11:00 am and then break and start hunting hard again at about 12:30 1 until dark , during my break I get up stretch my legs, check my gear etc...
I found a cool little device in Canada called a digital book, you can get software that contains a few book and you just click through the screens to read...you can bookmark your place or blow up the text if you have bad eyesight...totally quiet too
I also like lots of others have said make sure I take extra clothes , food, water and something to pee in....
I recently started hunting huge tracks of public land so I got a GPS and things I may need if I wound up getting stuck or hurt and cant get out..
comfort.safety and confidence, thats what you need to be out there all day

During the rut if I hunt the morning, take a break, hunt the midday, take a break and hunt the evening. Otherwise I hunt the first and last three. Deer in our woods move late in the morning, so going in before light is a waste. I go in when I can see and don't use a light. The majority of deer we see, including big bucks, are about 2 hours after light and right before dark in the evening (last 1/2 hour). Mid day hunting in my area in September and October early season is not productive as the deer are bedded unless they are pushed. I try to let trail cams take a lot of the pain, instead of my ass, when it comes to patterning buck movement times.

Everyone basically has the same idea. Get comfortable, warm, and find something that will keep you occupied during the down times.
