This forum helped me again!! You all are unanimous on feathers. I don't think I need any more advice, I'm going to try feathers.

Feathers....I feel that they stabilize arrows more consistantly.

Ive never actually shot with feathers, but from what I hear feathers have a tendancy to correct arrow flight better than vanes. Since I dont have fletching equipment and ocasionally hunt in the rain, I use vanes because of their durability and their resistence to the elements.

HeHeHe, well maybe not. I been back and forth many times. But what it ultimately comes down to for me is I hate baby sitting my feathers (protecting them, waterproofing them). Yes, feathers are more forgiving, but I'm back to vanes again.

Everyone always says you have to waterproof your feathers and keep them from the weather. I disagree, I have shot wet feathers before and have never had a problem with them. In fact, I shot a doe this year with wet feathers, hit where I was aimed at 22 yards. I will say, they do look horrible when they get wet, but with my experience they fly no different within 30 yards. Just another reason for me to stick with feathers.

Feathers are better. Make noise when brushed up on clothing, and are a pain when it rains but they fly true. And really that is the biggest deal, if more accurate shots are possible then thats why I use them now.

I like feathers for their looks, accuracy, and the overall confidence they give me. If your worried about wet feathers, keep a arrow fletched with vanes in your quiver and use that.
