When I got home from work today I had a message from the police dept. They got the membership list and the 3rd person they talked to matched my description! The cops scared hime into telling who the other 2 are and they are being charged with tresspassing. 2 of them are getting charge with accessory, 1 is getting charged for dealing in stolen property, while the one who pointed the rifle at me is being charged with armed robbery.
I asked about the deer head, and was told the antlers were cut off with a piece of the skulland sold for 50 bucks. Thats what the dealing in stolen prop. was for.
The cops told me that the one who is cooperating will have the accesory charge dropped, I don't mind, at least he's trying to right a wrong.

I had a doe taken last year. I know how you feel. But I realy feel sorry for the jerks that took the deer. For one they are not hunters. Did the game commission give you another tag? At least you are here to tell your story and hunt again

I feel for ya man. This crap pees me off so bad. It makes me so sick to know that I'm fighting for my rights to hunt and own guns, to have people like this included into the same group as me. @#%$#^% %$#^% MAN!!! I normally post in the Politics forum because I've taken up the cause to fight for our rights. When I see or hear this kind off stuff, Its like, Why do I? Why waste my time???
I witnessed two similar acts of "slobism" in Maryland up on Warrior Mt. WMA last year. Some idiot from PA was hunting below me and shot a deer, it fell about 75 yards infront of me. He comes walking over and see it's a doe (buck season only) and walks off and heads up the mountin. I sat there all day waiting for him to come back, and he did with his buddy to help drag it out. They stood there for about a minute, and his buddy said "$#%& it" and they walked off leaving it there. I could not beleive it. If it was a mistake, thats one thing but you DO NOT leave a perfectly good deer to waste!!!
The other thing I saw that week was not really a deer taking but an attempt to take. This same group of PA "hunters" tried to take a guys deer. I was up on a ridge watching the hollow below me when a shot went off across on the opposit ridge. I heard the deer run down the mountin to our normal meet up place were we go to eat lunch and see what all everybodies seen or got. NOTE: No other shots were in the area. I went down at lunch time to see what Johnny got, because the shot came from his stand area (thats what I thought). Well I only found this bunch of PA "hunters", this one guys wife was going off about how these three guys took her deer. Of course I asked what was going on, and got her whole story. But I new someting was up because she said she heard the shot up the ridge and a second later she saw a buck come down and she took a shoot, then the deer fell down. Then she said some guys came down and draged the deer down the hill saying it was theirs. Well the guys she was with was ready to fight somebody. All I could say was thats stinks and if I see them I'll come get them. As I was walking to the truck I keep thinking I only heard one shot. We drove out to the state house parking lot below the mountin. We found Johnny and he had he little buck in the truck. I asked if about the woman up the by the ground blind where we normally meet and he said he seen her but didnt talk to her. I told him about what she was telling everybody and that was her deer. He said he only heard one shot and that was his. I told him thats all I heard too. Maybe I should have told the "slobs" they should have taken the deer that they left up there on saturday!!

Great news that the police caught them I hope they throw the book at them. I don~t understand why someone would take a deer that wasn~t theirs to begin with, I hunt on public ground alot in ohio and most of the hunters I have run into have been pretty nice but after reading some of these posts it makes you leary of strangers.

Man that sucks, I would be furious. You guys are having bad luck with other hunters. Around here there isn't many people that would steal a deer, unless it was laying by the road. I feel bad for you. Every tresspasser that I've found on my hunting land always did exactly what I told them to do, and were scared out of their mine, since they were caught. Having one argue would probably burst my bubble. I would be sooooo angry if someone stole my deer!

GREAT NEWS!
Just finished readinga ll the posts.
Glad to hear they got caught, as fwer carying a sidearm next time, in my state that aint legal or I would. Probably though with 4 against one it wouldnt have mattered, and I would likely have followed your lead in just hightailing it away.
But who knows, I am just glad i havent yet had to find out. good luck in the future man!
