Default slobs stole my deer at gunpoint

Well, this weekend was bittersweet to say the least. after sitting at the potty field and freezing for several hours and rattling on occasion, I heard footsteps, closer they came. It seemed like it took forever for the deer to come into view.
As I looked at it's head I noticed something unusual about the rack. The tines, all six of them, seemed to point outwards. Not straight out, mind you, but up then curving out. You know, sort of like the hat a court jester would have worn in the kings court a couple hundred years ago.
This deer was very nervous as he approached the clearing of the potty field, but he didn't hesitate very long. He had business to do! Does a deer poop in the woods? You betcha! While he was busy unloading, I was busy picking out a hair on his side. It seemed like an eternity as I sighted in and released my arrow. Everything was moving in slow motion as the arrow went from my bow, through the air and into the deers side 20 yards away!
MY buck, jumped straight up in the air and spun around, looking not quite in the opposite direction, but half way between me and the opposite direction. It was then that I saw the blood, the arrow went all the way through him!
The deer took three steps, stumbled and took off as fast as he could. I was amazed at the speed at which he left, it was as if he could run faster than my arrow! As it dissappeared into the woods I looked at my watch; 9:55. I thought I'd wait for half an hour then get my deer.
It was then I realized I wasn't alone. The silence of the woods was broken by the sound of gunfire. BOOM, BOMM, BANG! Three shots rang out, then alot of yelling.
I got up to investigate, and I followed the blood trail of my deer. It went about 40 yards. It was laying on it's side with 3 guys standing around it yelling like they killed it, one with a beer bottle in his hand. Another had a joint in his mouth with his hand shaking as he tried to light it.
By the way the only wound in the deer was from my arrow. Yet they claimed the deer! One of them even pointed his rifle at mewhen I told them it was an arrow that brought it down, AND they were tresspassing. I had to leave! I took the most direct route back to the property owners house and we called the cops. It was amazing how fast they got there! Within 5 minutes we were going back into the woods to show the police where it all happened. when we got there we followed the drag marks back to the hunt club next door, but they were gone allready. Oh, well! At least we've given tresspass warnings to the club, and yes I gave descriptions to the cop. He said he's going to the St. attorny office to get subpeonas from the hunt club membership. He said he'll get them.

Damn, I hate to hear this kind or dispicable behavior from slobs in the deer woods. By no means would I call them hunters. Makes me want to administer my own justice. I hope they get charged with anything and everything they can be charged with including assualt as they pointed a gun at you. I hope you recover your deer also. Another case for carrying a cell phone with you while hunting. Good luck. By the way, I would edit the title to read something like slobs took my deer from under me or something like that. Because of the title I almost didn't open the thread.

That's B.S... I shot a 9pt this year and watched it run over the hill and pile up. I took my stand and other gear to my vanand called my buddy to help drag it up the hill. We got back to where the deer should be laying and found my arrow and a big blood clot, and QUAD TRACKS. These idiots were tresspassing also, then stole my buck. I just wish there was snow so I could track them down. The total time elaps was less than 30 minutes.<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dissapprove.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>

My fried had deer stolen from him. He said it was a beautiful 9 point. He started to gut it and heard a shot close by. His friend had taken his first buck. He went to help gut the deer and when he came back to get his it was gone. It looked like someone had drug it so far without gutting it and then loaded it on a fourwheeler. That would really tick me off.

I am not an advocate for violence, but I am all for protecting myself and property. I never go into the woods bowhunting without a sidearm. I agree, I would never shoot someone over a deer, but the idea that you have a gun too will deter many would be thieves...Luckily, I hunt deer on my own land, and to be honest, if I catch someone in there, they have more to worry about than taking my deer. I duck hunt on public land, and have had runins with groups on occasion, mostly in regards to being too close. Fortunately, peristance paid off, and they usually moved. I have a hog lease that is easily accessible by poachers. I've never seen them, but have seen their tracks. The guy we lease from strongly urges taking a cell phone, (with the game warden's #), and a sidearm(not only for the poacher, but also the hogs!!!).
