Default Game camera-theoretical question

Suppose you own a piece of property and it is posted allowing no hunting without written permission. Suppose on this property you find an unauthorized "state-of-the art", digital game camera and you have no idea who put it there.
Now suppose you shot an arrow directly at the lens..would the camera capture and record the arrow flight as it approached the camera's destruction? Would the Memory card survive?

just curious

I wouldn't shoot an arrow at it.
I would have a new game camera...
If the owner came looking for it then I would proceed to tell them it was set up on private property without permission. I would then tell them that next time they trespassed I'd have them arrested - and I'd have a game camera photo to prove it!

I think most cameras pick up motion and HEAT. Therefore you would have to launch a flaming arrow at it.

I think it would be very difficult to time it right. I very much doubt that you hit the memory card unless you're a poor shot. If you came across this sinero can I ask a question? Why not hang a sign where the camera was requesting that they contact you about getting their camera back.

I hate nothing more then tresapssers but destroying the cam makes no sense. IMO

It truly is a theoretical question. I would not damage someones hunting/or personal property, without having a face to face chat with them first. If this happened I would hold up a note with my name and contact info on it and let the camera take my picture.
Most of us hunters work hard for our money and spend way to much on gadgets to have them stolen or damaged. This is why i would never take a tree-stand or anything else i stumble acrossed.

I just thinks it would be funny to have someone develope a picture and see a broadhead zooming toward a lens.

Speaking of which, I use cameras on public land also. I wonder if using the first picture to show myself with a sign, with all my contact information on it. Along with a note saying please if you took my camera please return it to: address..I am a hunter who also works hard for my money and would appreciate your honesty.

then the second picture would be the same with me holding a sign that says attention film developers, if this film was brought to you by anyone other than : Name... please contact me, as the camera may have been stolen.

Do ya think it would work? Maybe make the person who took it have a conscience?

I would leave a note on the tree that the camera was on.
Saying "if you have written permission to hunt this property please contact me @ (your number) to get your camera back" then under that "if you dont have written permission to hunt this property please contact me @ ( local police station number) so we can work out what charges your going to face."

I have to agree, if it's on my property and I haven't let anyone hunt it...I would own a new camera...if the owner didn't come to me and ask me if I had the camera.......and at that point I could explain the implications of him trespassing....etc.....and if he wasn't human enough to come ask me....I'd own a new camera......win, win situation.
