I would have a new game camera...
If the owner came looking for it then I would proceed to tell them it was set up on private property without permission. I would then tell them that next time they trespassed I'd have them arrested - and I'd have a game camera photo to prove it!

I have to agree, if it's on my property and I haven't let anyone hunt it...I would own a new camera...if the owner didn't come to me and ask me if I had the camera.......and at that point I could explain the implications of him trespassing....etc.....and if he wasn't human enough to come ask me....I'd own a new camera......win, win situation.
