RE: What's your scouting routine???
I personally don't like seeing natural blinds built on state land because it's like someone is trying to reserve that spot for themselves. I had hunted a field corner for 2 years when last year I went there to find a blind of limbs with a milk crate inside. I climbed my usual tree and at 4:00 a guy comes walking up to the blind.........I whistled at him and he looks up and when he sees me he says "I built this blind here" to which I responded "It's a nice one" and returned my eyes to the field. He then says "Well, I guess I'm not sitting here"..........my response was "Good Luck".
I was not about to climb out of a tree I had been in for 4 hours on public land. He built the blind in MY spot and then expected me to walk away when he came to sit down???...........not a chance.
There is no such thing as YOUR spot on public land no matter how many years you have hunted it. I hunted the same spot opening day gun for 9 years and one year as I walked in I got the flashlight wave [:@] Oh well.........I just kept walking to my back up spot.
I NEVER go to public land banking on one spot to be open because if it isn't your day is ruined.
