I think it depends on what you are planning on doing for shooting. For hunting a .029 should be fine. If you are tourney shooting a .019 has some advantages. Mainley the the pin won't take up the entire 10 ring, especially when you shoot at greater distances.
I don't shoot a .019 but have always thought that in low light conditions (prime hunting) that it may be difficult to see the pin. hopefully someone with a .019 pin can elaborate on my thoughts.

Don't get the barebones - I love Spott-hog, think they are at the top, but the bare bones is the hardest sight in the world to adjust. Spend the extra $ and get the right on or similar. You will not be happy with the bare bones, heck I would even take a trophy ridge over the Bare bones.
For hunting the .029 is better

When I shot a multiple pin sight I would mix them. I always shot a .29 pin for my top pin and .19 pins for my longer range pins. You are never going to shoot long range in a low light situation so this seemed to work well for both target and hunting. JMO
