Anyone got a tip on repairing a rubber boot at a point where it flexes often? I've got a pair of Lacrosse Burley's that broke through near the toe and I'd hate to throw them out.

I am pretty sure Bogobble had some of those boots that broke also. Apparently it is a problem with those boots, although I could be wrong. I always get a new pair every year from Wlamart, but they are some el-cheapo knee highs and not LaCross Burly's. Check to see if they are still under warranty. If they are you might be able to get another set for free.

And if I remember right....LaCross markets an item that should be used on their boots to keep them in good shape.

I've tried to fix Rubber Boots in the past, but it never holds. I've used flexible epoxy, shoe goo, tie patches, etc. If they are older than 2 or 3 years I suggest you just replace them. If they are even slightly dry-rotted you might as well pitch them as the condition is irrepairable IMO.

Yes.....that area is peppered with small cracks so it looks as though the rubber has become hard and brittle. What gets me is that they were kept in a finished basement away from direct heat. They shouldn't be cracking yet [:@]

I guess I'll be steering clear of Lacrosse next time. Anyone know of a good alternative that has wide sizes?

I bought a pair of Itasca scent free rubber boots 3yrs ago and i still wear them now awsome boots, 200gram insulated keeps my feet toasty deer hunting and keep them cool in spring when I hunt turkey, the best boot I ever bought, picked um up at Dicks around 50 bucks. you should check um out!

When you go to put them on, before inserting foot, step into a small kitchen garbage bag, they slide your foot into the boot. No more wet foot except from the sweat.[8D] OR>>>.... you could just break down and buy a new pair.

How old are these boots? I had a pair of Lacrosse chest waders that were pretty old and developed a leak. I sent them back with a letter of my dissatisfaction and they sent me a new pair, no questions asked. Might be worth a try.
