Default Rubber Boot ?

I know you are supposed to wear rubber boots to hunt deer. But I must admit I have not found a pair that I like to wear. My feet sweat in them and if I have to walk any distance at allmy socks are down around my ankles. [:'(]I have been wearing leather and cloth boots for years and have had good success. Rarely get busted because Iam very cautious with scent control. Anybody else out there not like or don't userubber boots?

There isn't a more comfortable rubber boot to wear than the Alfa Burly Sports! I love these boots so much I rarely ever even want to wear any others.

I only wear the rubber boots on close hunts around home. When I huntmy big woods areas I always wear my Rockies.... I also never have any trouble with deer busting my trail.

I can only remember one time in the past few years that I was busted from mywalk intrail and I was in rubber boots at the time.

I have an OLD pair of Irish Setters that my dad gave me a few years back (hand-me-downs). They are not completely rubber, just from the ankle down. I love them but I'm getting a new pair because I've worn the tread off the bottom so I fall down alot. The only thing I liked about them was the soft sole. I could walk through the woods ninja style.

Not too sure what my next boot purchase will be.

LaCrosse boots are ankle-fit so my socks don't come down. I find them very comfortable to walk in. Your feet are going to sweat in rubber boots. I find the tucking my pants into the tops helps keep them dryer. AsI walk. the flexing ofthe boot helps to pump dry air in and damp air out of the boot. Also I find that putting a felt insole into the bottomreally adds to the warmth and comfort of any boot.

I have the Cabelas version of the Alpha's.... awesome boot. Only complaint i have other than as stated,,, your feet are going to sweat in ANY rubber style boot.,,, is that I should have ordered wide.

I recently returned my LaCrosse Alpha Burly Sports. They were very comfortable but couldn't stand up to all the Mesquite thorns on my lease. I replaced them with Red Head Bayou zip up snake boots. Not as comfortable, (although not bad), and much, much, tougher. No more rubber for me.

Jmbuck I am in the same boat. I can not find a rubber boot that I like. I have really big calves and can't find a pair that fit right. I wear my rockies all the time. In fact I just got a new pair yesterday. I spray them down good before I hunt. I have never been busted due to my non-rubbers boots that I am aware of.
