Default Gold Tips hard to get out of targets

I am shooting a Liberty at 73# and 7595 GT's. I just started participating in 3D shoots and I have to tell you it was hard getting the arrows out of the targets last time. Is there something I can do that would help? Does anyone else have this problem? I don't think it should require two people holding the 3D target while one pulls on the arrow to get these things out if there!!!! [8D]

Glad you didn't by the dually - you would need another friend

Sometimes a little soap, or lube will help.

Gold tip tips will help a little.

I believe Sattelite make a pre-lubed head also.

Its just a fact of life when shooting foam animals

Carbons + McKenzie targets = work

Best suggestions are either some type of lube, such as Woodys lube, or Ivory bar soap. Just soap up the end of the arrows, about 6 inches, with the soap, and the arrows will come out easier.

Or, get an arrow puller, and it helps to some extent.

I'm suprized the guys you were shooting with didn't instruct you about this!

Some guys keep a lube tube (it's got a hole in the top to stick your arrow down inside where silicone soaked foam lubes the arrow) hanging on their quiver to dope their arrows before shooting them. Since I'm a cheapskate, I just carry a hunk of soap and rub the soap on the first 6" or so of my arrow before shooting each target. And carry an arrow puller like the Gorilla Grip. Gorilla Grip has a kit with the puller and lube tube both, plus a bottle of lube to fill the tube. The lube and the puller makes pulling those carbons a LOT easier.

I use either a bar of soap or easy pull points on GT's unfortunately I can't get easy pull points for my CXL's[] but soap makes them easy to pull

I think I'm going to try the soap on Sunday. I can just see it now, I will get soap on my hands and never be able to get the arrow out!!
