Used a loop for 5 years, and no problems so far.

I have used a string loop now for seven years with no problems,But beware,there are companies that put out the cheap stuff.

Never happened to me yet. But it does take a little while to build some confidence in it. One thing though, if you are using a release aid, there is no need to draw back directly in line with your face whether you use a loop or not.
