Which Mathews is better, LX or Outback?

Mike from Texas, you definitely shot a dud. Go to the Outdoor Pro Shop in Richardson. They have one set up without cat whiskers or limb savers and it is very quiet with virtually no hand shock. I would never add limb savers or whiskers to my LX and I wouldn't expect them to be on an Outback. I have been told that it isn't really a good idea to push the weight past 70# on the Outback. That also could have been part of the problem. (unless you had one of the Safari Series bows)
For what it's worth, my buddy decided to upgrade from his 1996 Ultralite to an Outback today. I am not ready to trade in my LX any time soon, but I think that a hunter would be happy with either bow.

I shot the outback yesterday and all I could say was WOW! For me, the outback is replacing my LX. I like the shorter ATA and the extra brace height is a plus. The only draw backs for me are the new camo pattern, I will have to get all new accessories and I shoot a 27" draw and will have to wait six weeks for my new arrow delivery system.

Personally, I would choose the one with longest AtoA and the largest brace height. That bow WILL be more forgiving and will be the BEST hunting bow, contrary to what some manufacturers try to push on bowhunters[:'(]

Double Creek, if you are choosing between the LX and the Outback, then you have an 'either or' situation. The outback has a 7 5/8" brace height & a 31.5 A-A while the LX is a 6 5/8" brace heigth and a 34 A-A. I think the differences cancel each other out and you have almost identically shooting bows. (yes, I have shot both) There is just not enough of a difference to make me want to trade in my LX for the Outback. They are both Excellent bows.

Reacher the LX is actually 35 3/4" ata ! The Legacy is 34" ata ! Outback is 31 1/2" !I think they shoot similar .....but shooting on a windy day....I think the LX is a little more stable ! The Outback is easier to manuver though and that extra inch of bh ....just doesn't catch your arm or sleave !!
Both are excellent !!

I also shot the Outback yesterday and I too could feel some resonating after the shot in my hand. I also shot the LX and thought the Outback was the better of the two. Maybe thats because I shot it right after I shot the Liberty I eventually bought.

Ordered my Outback yesterday
Only problem now is that for the next week or two I'll be bowless.
The shop has a bow already on order that fits my specs and they put my name on it. They ordered it at the show and parts of that order are coming in.
I can hardly wait!

Deerslayer,I had a chance to shoot the Outback a couple of weeks ago. I felt it had a very smooth draw, quite, little hand shock. All in all,a nice bow if you are into a 31 in. ATA.But for me,I have a 30in. draw,so I'm sticking with my LX..Bob
