Default Dryfire

I had a friend of mine accidentaly dryfire his bow. He was drawing back the string when the arrow fell off. As the arrow fell off he fired. It through the string leaches right off. But there was no other aparent damage. He inspected the bow very carefully and found no sign of harm and even shot some arrows just to make sure. It seems that he got extremely lucky. Has this ever happend to anyone else?

Default RE: Dryfire

It happened to me once on my first bow but it didn't do any damage either. Most of todays bow can take a dry fire and be fine, but, when you get into the multiple dry-fires, you are BEGGING for trouble. The best bet is to make 100% sure you don't dry fire you bow. My past two bows were never dry-fired and I am sure that I will never dry fire my new bow when it comes in!!!!!1
