when is the best time to look for sheds?

Don't worry it doesn't involve a Keg.
You put corn/feed down on the ground or in a trough and rig chicken wire where it will come into contact with the antlers. The antlers will get knocked off. The wire isn't strong enough to entangle the animal if the antlers aren't ready to come off,so it won't hurt them. I've only read about it never tried it. We can't feed deer at all in NY. There usually are some threads about it around this time here or on the bowsite, can't remember which site.

We are very careful in the Spring when we are in the fields with tractors and working ground, a shed can puncture a $1500, tractor tire in a heart beat.If we see one we always stop and retreive it
