Something I have started is taking a water bottle mixed with baking soda. I drink coffee on the way to my lease and was wondering the same thing. So I gargle and wash my mouth out with the water before I get on stand. I can taste the baking soda for hours, so hopefully it is helping.

After a heavy night of drinking.....gargle with a little Tinks before going on stand...
Won' t help with the smell but it' ll darn sure make you wish you hadn' t had so much to drink.[
