My wife just caught a couple of JERK kids walking through our property with BB guns and shooting at every bird they saw. They walked right up to her stand before they realized what they had done. Not to mention that it was an hour before dark!
She LOST it and started yelling at them and couldn' t catch up with them in time to find out who they were and where they were from.
ANY tresspasser just ticks me off to NO end! Those kids better hope that I never catch them.

First of all, i agree, it is wrong to hunt someone elses stand without permission. And i would be outraged/skeered if i got out in the woods, looked up, and saw an armed person in my stand. But confrontation in the woods just isnt on the top of my list of favorites. Think about it, your mad, your yelling, theyre afraid they are going to get in trouble, they may be yelling, he has an arrow knocked, you are just carrying your bow. There are a lot of odd peope out there so IMO, i dont think u should confront them. Post your property lines, rotate your stands around, but i dont think you should walk up angry to someone with a weapon...... Call a game warden or someone with legal authority to confront them once its certain that they are illegally hunting.

If that is the case then I apoligize, however I am not sure how you can read it any other way with things like>
Not that his post is without merit as he makes some suggestions>
My beef is that he either didn' t read my opening post or ignored its content. Well that and the afore mentioned quotes.
Although I take the situation seriously I tried to downplay it by my title and opening...but I could see how that got missed. This is just one day, one season whatever... the situation will get resolved so I am not THAT worked up about it. It' s not like I have seen a P&Y buck in that woods that I think he will get before me. Not that I am a trophy hunter.
Bitching later does nothing.
Stop the complaining and do something about it.
You should have checked it out.
They' ll be back again and again until taught they' re UNWELCOME
Tell them they get one second chance and you just had yours.
Take some steps out or the stick down or whatever you got going up to the place. Paddlelock it to so it' s not easily stolen. POST the property line.

Sorry if you thought I was trolling and trying to put you down. I just reread your intial post and found no place in it where you said you went to the stand at first light. Perhaps I need to beable to read better between the lines. You did say you tried to have your wife call the Game Warden. If the guy left before first light... I' d say he was lost or confused... he certainly wasn' t hunting.

I was fixing to post a response similar to David' s then I read his. But really - you should have walked over - introduced yourself - and kicked him the hell off. Only a real fool would ever come back. Now - if it was a ballsy trespasser - he only thinks he got away with something.

davidmilYour right I did not specifically say after light, fair enough. Honestly though before light after light, who cares I did say I should have went over and I did say I did go over.
Now as to >
I just don' t have the foggiest idea how you could draw this conclusion. Let' s see... red light not a white one, in a woods without permission 45 min before light, in someone elses (mine
) deer stand.... lol. WTF you think he was doing? Reguardless he was still in a stand he didn' t own, on property he neither owned or had rights to be on. O' and it is VERY clearly posted. A point I had not addressed that you brought up.
He either left cause he figured out that I had reached my stand and was therefor out of reach to see who he was or he heard me on my phone telling the wife to contact DNR. Not likely on the later as I was whispering but possible given the stillness of the morning and the distance apart. Maybe he could tell the glow from my phone.... who knows.
farm hunter As mentioned I stated in my very first post that I did go over and that in retrospect I should have went over earlier. My crime was to second guess what I should do and then trying to get a hold of authorities thereby giving the bastard time to get away.
when I went over there after I found out no DNR were available the person was gone.

Maybe it wasn' t a human...maybe it was the boogeyman, and the red light wasn' t even a light... it was his glowing 3rd eyeball...LOL

Oh man...you are lucky you didn' t go over there...you might not be here to tell us about it!!![
]
Hunt3r... don' t take this wrong, it' s just a stab at humor to lighten things up a bit.

I think you were just venting and I don' t know what you were looking for in replies but think you got enough so to keep one from fueling the other it' s time to put this on to rest.
