Hey ricoace,
Is that the fruit that was on the tree? Just wondering. I didn' t know deer would eat sassafras fruit, but I read where wildlife likes it. I am really not sure it the fruit is on the trees this time of year or not.

Dang Rico, I sure was hoping for this hunt to end succesfully but I think your time is coming. I" m gonna check back in here from time to time and a bet I will see your name next to a success thread. I betcha.
I lost one myself (4 years ago) and tracked it a good ways but never found my 8 pt. It' s not a good feeling at all. You are now a better hunter because of this misfortune. If you don' t mind me asking, whereabouts where you hunting? You still hunting up towards Somerville? I know of a few hot spots for hogs and deer up in the Sam Houston National Forest off of I-45. I think you' ve hunted there before? If you are interested I' d be more than happy to pass the info. on to you. Just le me know.
