Default Material needed for bag target?

I' ve been practicing using a large bag target. The inside is a lot of screen material and the outside has two layers of a shiny burlap type of material. Well, I have shredded the outer layer to the point of no return and now sometimes my arrows bounce right off the target. Does anyone know of something cheap I can use until I can buy a block type target?
Tried shooting at 40 & 50 yards for the heck of it - did rather well. All shots were within a 1 foot square.

I use my wife' s beater sewing machine and sew up the fiber lumber wrappers you can get off the bundles at a local lumber yard. I sew them into 24" x24" pillows. I then stuff them with shrink wrap. Shrink wrap is used to wrap pallets of boxes when shipping them. It' s a heavy duty Seran Wrap. Any freight outfit should have PILES of old used shrink wrap. I own a harware and building materials store so I have an abundance of both.

In michigan we get our deer carrots in a orange bag its kind of stringy if you have them around you you know what i mean, then just stuff the bag with hay, or styrafoam, or an old pillow. Or you could just strech the orange bag across your old target and pin it on. Any way you go good luck.

They do sell replacement bags. Try cabellas or a sporting goods store.

Thanks for the suggestions. I came up with a cardboard cutout of a deer - as long as I hit the cardboard the arrow penetrates the bag. No bouncing off.
I' ve been looking for someone that sells small hay bales but it seems all the farmers make the huge round ones anymore.
It will be nice to have a live target to shoot at soon!

Using old clothes as a stuffing works great, too. It is also a good way to clean out yur closet.

Get a new bag cover from Walmart and you can also buy that stuff they use to make pillows from there. Restuff it with what you have and some new stuff. Strips of leather works great for field tips........I have 2 bags with leather inside. It will stop an arrow.
