Default Need Broadhead for 17" arrow

I shoot a Horton Steelforce crossbow. Last year I took a doe with a cheap Allen mechanical. Because of the poor groups I have gotten with them I switched to Game tracker firstcut EXP 100. I get very good groups with them, but in my black hole target they don' t always open consistently. Although I did use one to put down a button buck that had it' s hips broken by a truck in front of my house, and the appeared to open immediately. Thinking of trying Muzzy. Because of the short length of my arrows I don' t know what to look for in a broadhead. I' m not sure how much of a factor it will be.

Seems like Slick Trick heads are pretty popular with crossbow hunters.

Every x-bow is different, just like a bow. I use a horton and use either thunderhead 100 0r 125' s. The feather fletching works better then the plastic. At 20 yards I have a 2 inch pattern .I have shot over a dozen deer with it in the past 4 years with that set up.You have to experiment some.
