I want to buy a ground blind. Tips?
#1
I want to get a ground blind for occasional hunting with my 5 1/2 year old boy. I figure it would be easier than having to stands up a tree and it would conceal movement better. What are the best blinds and do you have any tips on placement, set-up or use?

I have the DB BS5 blind and it is wonderful and its the perfect size for me to take both of my kids in. I' ve had the Amerstep penthouse and it was good for size but the material that was used to make this blind flapped way to much and it spooked the deer alot.plus it didn' t have the shoot thru netting.Thats when I spent a little bit more money and bought the DB blind the mat. that they use is alot heavier and their is virtually no flap at all and is very easy to open and close and it has the shoot thru netting and is IMO can take the weather better that we have here in MN. You know the saying " you get what you pay for" and the DB is well worth the price.

I have to Double Bull T5 pro staff and it is a very good blind. I don' t think you can go wrong with these products. A lot of the guys on here use the Ameristep blinds and really like them, I have never used them but I think they are good products. A hunting buddy of mine has the Outhouse and he now has a Double Bull. If wind is a big issue you can' t beat the Double Bull blinds. Out here, 15-30 mph winds are normal and the Double Bull is the only blind that doesn' t flap in these high winds. The cadillac of ground blinds IMO.

I have the Ameri-Step Doghouse blind. I like it alot. My main concern was making sure you had enough room in it to shoot a bow. Some are small, like the outhouse blind, and makes bow shooting very difficult. So keep the size, and height in mind.
