Thanks for the info WHO-
I guess my case was a little weird because I was showing multiple symptoms but very little " evidence" . I had an MRI and Arthroscopy done- and both came back from the Radiologist as normal. The scope was done based on physical exam findings VS the MRI/arthroscopy. Both Drs(whom I have known for 3 years and send us a lot of their PTs (I work in their hospital) and I have always had considerable faith in were really unsure what exactly was wrong- although they both feared multiple injuries. The scope was done with an effort to further diagnose the injury(s). I was told before I went under that they planned to 1st look for a SLAP tear and fix it , then they were going to search forother problems (impingment - which the MRI did show a slight imp. if I understand correctly) and other possibilities). When they scoped me- they found 3 Labrial tears and a totally/partially (I' m unclear how detached it was ) detatched Bicep tendon. After repairing the labrium and reatatching the tendon- as I understand it the decision was made to not perform an open procedure and search any farther because they both felt completely confident that my problem was solved and fixed. However- I still have a lot of the same symptoms that I had before the surgery- but some have gone away. I also had an incident 2 weeks post op that He believes reinjured my Tendon. I spillede a huge cup off hot coffee in my lap and as a result jumped and reflexivly threw my arm up causing severe pain to my shoulder- the pain has really never left since then- and he fears thay I at least partially detached part of my Tendon. I will find out more today- but if I understand him correctly- he said that he can scope me again and a just completly detach the tendon- but that he can not go back in the review the Cuff tear until 6 months after the original surgery. Why I don' t know- I' m not sure if it has to do with healing or time consrtaints (we are all active duty military and we are down several Drs who were deployed to the gulf). He is also sending me to a nurologist to try to explain some apparent nerve damage (my hand keeps going numb in certain areas) which he thinks probably has more to do with my rollover MVA I had a week before my sceduled surgery. He has discussed the possibilty of doing something called a bursectomy (i think) and a clavicle resection- but I' m sortof unclear what these will do- I hopefully will have a better understanding today. Thanks for the help- any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Doc,
I hope all goes well with your future surgery. Don' t let it get you discouraged and don' t alway believe what the doctors tell you. Alot of what they do is guesswork and they aren' t always right.
Hang in there, you' ll shoot again. As for poundage, I believe that 40-45 pounds is the minimum for whitetail. As stated above, it will require some patience and discipline but at least it gets you in the field.

I wish you luck as well Doc. I do hope you get to the point that you can eventually get back out there with a compound. However, do not rule the crossbow out either. It will still allow you to get out there in the woods in pursuit of those elusive whitetails.
As for a minimum ethical draw weight....tough call. When the time comes I would suggest ordering a 40-50 lb draw weight bow and shooting it between 38-40 lbs initially (assuming you normally shoot in the 60- 70 lb draw weight range). Then you can gradually increase the draw weight, over time and when appropriate, to something back in the more typical range for most adult male shooters. Most bows peak a few pounds above their peak draw weight anyhow.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks all!!!!!!!
I was shooting a Jennings Carbon Master Extreame with Muzzy 100' s at 70#. If I have to go down- would you recomend perhaps a 2 blade for better penetration. I have killed 2 nice does in my 2 years of hunting- not counting last years season that I mainly missed (although I did some awesome scouting!!!!!!!) Both deer where @ 28 yds and 32 yds- How much closer should I move my shoot zone with a 45-50 lbs draw?
Also, can I " let-off my Jennings down to that #' ge, because with my work future in limbo right now (my plans of being a fireman seem about over) money is very TIGHT.
Thanks

Doc,
I thought that sounded rather strange. I talked with two of the Ortho guys I work with and they said that since you pull with the muscles of the shoulder you should not have a real problem with the tendon. I was told that it may cause a defect in the forearm but unless this bothers you it should not be a problem. They said depending on if you are a very active sports person they may recomend reatachment. but if not.......... would need to look at things.
The decompression is to give you more room between the rotator cuff and the clavical and the removal of the distal clavical goes along with part of the impengment problem.
bursectomy, Im not sure what he will do, on the nerve damage you may look at some blocks/injections to see if this will help.
Again good luck,
Rick

Sorry to hear about your injury. I broke my leg one fall. It was a bad break that required pins and surgery, etc. Needless to say I missed that season.
To get through without hunting, I ended up reading almost every hunting and fishing magazine published
.
Keep a positive outlook and you' ll get through.
Good Luck!

Well I got an update and clarification today. I didn' t completly detach the Bicep Tendon from the Labrium- it was partial and the Labrium puled away from the bone and tore. I definatly have pain their when I try to draw back- but it isn' t as bad as when I contract my bisep- my main pain drawing comes from the opposite side directly to the back of where the Bicep Tendon hurts- he was honest with me today and told me he has no idea why it hurts- neither does his 2 partners- they hope it' s just from irritation and inflamation- but again he doesn' t know- my MRI is Tommorow so hopefully it will show something. He thinks that my Labrium is not healing because of the injury to my long head of Tendon- so he is talking about removing it and either attaching it somewhere else or just leaving it off- depending on what he sees when he goes in- hopefully in 2 weeks. He didn' t mention 6 months today- so hopefully he is planning on fixing all of it- I HOPE[
