i dont use one,cant afford it but i dont realy feel i need it cause i know how far i can shoot

As others said, it's an ESSENTIAL piece of equipment for me as well. I'll rarely leave home without one if I'm hunting. A lot of shooting as well as ranging enables you to be able to know exactly how to hold for that shot that you just ranged at 35.5yds when you havea 30 and 40yd pin, and you want to hit a 3" target.

I alway carry mine into the woods with me. I have the Bushnell Scout 1000 w/ ARC. Unless you are shooting out west or extreme angles, I would deffinately say you can do without the ARC.

I hunt out of a stand, and have a good Pendulum sight. No need for a range finder. Put the pin on it and yank the chain.
