Tag soup for me but I get the luxury of filling my freezer with elk.. I might be different if I was ina deer only state .. Meat in the freezer is very important in our household.. I'd probably shoot a doe over a spiker buck though..

I certainly don't "need" venison to feed my family. I just want it real bad. In that scenario, with no venison at all,the spike is going down. I think the difference between us is that the venison IS what I'm hunting for.
It's not a realistic scenario for me either, though.
I can appreciate that.
It's really not realistic for me, either, because we have a bunch of doe running around that are more than willing to become stew.
Like I said, though, I dont hunt for meat..I get meat because I hunt
