I was out yesterday with my Vectrix trying to take advantage of the orange army push. First deer that came by was actually not a push but on his regular route. It was a 2.5 yr 5ptr. I bagged it. 2 minutes later as I'm still shaking from the experience, I hear a "squirrel" running back and forth and in circles probably 60yds from me. I didn't pay it no mind because deer don't run back and forth and in circles right?
Wrong! It then trotted underneath my stand and stood there sniffing where I'd been been stepping. I slowly nocked and arrow and drew. I'm wearing my nylon blaze orange suit so it's not quiet like my ASAT. The doe hears the swish of the nylon and darts forward 15yds taking away the only shot I had.
The lesson that I already learned a few times before:
NEVER EVER DISMISS ANY NOISE IN THE FOREST!!!

congrats on the 5pt. Saw a real young 5pt yesterday and it took everything i had not to stick him. he came right to the Tinks #69 i had under my stand and just hung around for a few minutes. It was like he almost WANTED to be shot...
