Nah nothing like that..just an old school up-bringing, every year I say I'm gonna change, and then a doe comes into the shooting lane and I find a reason not to shoot, "Did she just look back??"...this year I'll lay one down.
PS not to date myself but the 1st of the 2..was some 29 years ago ...wow!

Thanks for the replies guys. Would I go back out and hunt hard for does if I could. Hell yes. So what if they have no horns. Its bowhunting not buckhunting. If you just want to shoot bucks, though, that's cool too. Everyone is different and that's what makes it interesting. As for being more selective, I'm sure I will be with experience but a six pointer was good enough for my first buck and I passed on many does and several spikes and forkhorns this year.
