What is the texas heart shot? I have heard several people referring to this and have no clue what it is.

A shot in the rear exiting out the front!!! As if the deer were walking straight away from you....Shooting them in the rear would be a Texas heart shot!!! Very messy shot, I have done it only once in the last 15 years!!!! Most likely won't do it again!!!

Ok I see how messy it could be, but what percentage of a shot is it I mean really the arrow has got to go through alot of junk to make an exit.

Not recomended with a bow, That would be more of a rifle or shotgun. not a very ethical shot in my book.

I don't recommend it with a bow nor a rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader whatever. It's a bad shot.

[:-]Not sure I would ever take this shot! I have however shot hard quartering away deer where the entrance was just in front of the rear and exited out threw the heart!(W/a bow)
