Guys If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and make a batch of Mark's award winning chili.

I got the recipe last year and it is by far the best chili I have ever had.

Mmmmm....I'm getting kinda hungry just thinking about it

Thanks Derek, it's funny PT made it today and w/o knowing he was going to, I bought the stuff to make another batch yesterday. With just the wife and me at home, we make enough to have a bowl on day 2, a bowl on day 3 and enough to put in the freezer for another day. Then with the little bit left, we always have chili dogs and chili cheese fries with the last tidbit. Mmmmm chili! Supposed to rain again tomorrow. CHILI NIGHT TOMORROW!

Well, PT, did you get a bowl full for supper or did you sample too much throughout the day and leave nothing for the rest of the family?
That makes ALOT of chili ... and boy did we it it up!!! It was kinda spicy for the wife (wimp) ...My youngest daughter and Andrew both said it was spicy, but too good to not eat ... My oldest daughter and I we added hot sauce

BTW, we replaced the hot salsa with mild for my wife's sake ...... and I added a few tablespoons of brown sugar for the acidity of the maters ...

OH!, we all rated it on a scale from 1-10, 10 being perfect....

Me - 9.9 (gonna try it with beans)
Andrew - 9.99 ...wanted beans (I think he said that cuz I did )
Youngest daughter - 10
Oldest Daughter - 10
Wife - 7 (too hot, no beans, smokey flavor)

great stuff Mark!!

Andrew will be movin backout once he sees (or smells) the end result of the Preach downin a couple bowls of that stuff![:-][:-]
Guys, there are NO BEANS in the chili ...... besides ... he cracks up when I fluff

Average of 9.3 out of 10 ain't too bad. I am humbled. Glad y'all enjoyed it. If you used mild salsa, it would be hard to make it any tamer for your wife.[&o][&o]

The smokey flavor I added to give it that campfire cooked flavor. I tried cooking on a campfire once over hickory wood, but it didn't add any smokey flavor.

If there was ANY left over, its time for chili dogs!

I used only one can of mild to 2 cans of medium .... my thought is to use one can medium to 2 cans mild ... the beans should kill some of the heat for her AND my eldest daughter and I will use pepperjack cheese to kick it up for ourselves.

As far as the smokey flavor ... she loses ...we ALL loved that part

I guess you could cut down the portions and make a bowl of only mild for her (remember to put it in a Gerber jar for her) and make the normal recipe for everyone else.
