Default ground venison

a few questions on proccessing.

How much ground venison do you ususly get from a deer. I know weight of the deer plays into this so if you want gi ve dress weight as well.
Also what do you do with your ground venison. I do not care for deer burgers. Do not get me wrong there good just i would rather have a good steak. I normaly use the burger for meatloaf or sloppy joes.

i was thinking about makeing some summer sausage and maybe some brats. What seasoning brand do you use.

I thinkhave heard 30% of field dressed, which I have found to befairly accurate but after cleaning it up after defrosting and little here and there before grinding (I am picky about what goes in the jerky and sausage) I would say between 25% and 30% of FD.

The last time I made brats and salami. I bought kits at Gander Mountain. The kits had everything in them to make 30 lbs salami and 25 lbs brats. the kits were $15.00 each. Gander Mopuntain has alot of different kits to make just about anything you want. I made mine about a month ago.

I like to make jerky with it. Buy a jerky shooter and shoot seasoned ground venison through it onto a dehydrater. Good eatin.
