OK guys i am kicking my self and know you will to for this but it happened.

Last year i noticed when season came around my 30 and 40 pins where not set right. i had never shot pass 20 and had not shot the bow much since i did not hunt my first year i had the bow. I made it a must compete goal for this season to set both. Well a few things happen causing me not to be able to shoot for a period of time.

One i got stabbed in the hand by a catfish and could not use my right hand for two week last month. Funny thing is this happen the night i shot at 30 to find out just how much it was off.
Then the first two weeks of sept i was sick once with a cold one with strap throat and another cold. me and two friends keep passing it around.

So here i am 11 days out with only my 20 set right.
Now i will not shoot 30 or 40 with out it set right.
If you had not shot pass 20 would you attempt to set them and get good enough to hunt in 11 day or just hunt with the 20 and say below 20. I am not sure i can get them set as i have never set a sight and get good enough to be comfortable to hunt out that far. I am thinking of waiting till this spring and then taking my time for next season.

Would you hunt with a sight only set for 20 or below. I know it will not be a issue with my stand and two other spot will be out of my pop up which i can set at 20 or less.

take your second pin, and shoot groups with it at further distances. once you get good groups, then you can walk your pin to the point of impact, and you are sighted in. If you are not gouping well, then you cannot really set the pin as you dont know where you are really hitting.

Did I miss somthing? What is stopping you from sighting in the 30 and 40 yard pins now?

I agree. I helped a friend of mine sight in his bow and it took about 9-12 arrows for each pin to get it right starting from scratch with a brand new sight. I only have 1 pin on mine ad it is set at 28 yards. I know where im need to aim for anything from 10 yards to 50 yards with it.

i know it is shooting about 6 to 8 inchs high so should not be a big issue .

nothing really i just figured my groups would open up alot when i go back that far. i will see what i can get done tomorrow. does anyone have any tips for sighting in a trueglow 3 pin. how much should i move the 30 pin if it is off by 6 to 8 inchs

I would stick with 20 and under if I were in your situation, it sounds like youdon't practicethat far and you don't want to risk the chance of injuring an animal if you are not proficient at that yardage. It won't hurt anything to set the pins at said yardage, tim I have pins on my bow set to 60 yards but I will never shoot at a whitetail that far, I am proficient out to about 35-40 yards and most likely won't shoot at an animal that far either...If I were in your situation, I would stick with the 20yds this year, you don't need the other pins to get started hunting....Best of luck to you ...
