If you happen to luck out and kill one how far of a drag are you looking at?? Mine are all between 1/4 and 1/2 miles with NO truck access. Now that is work!! Pleasant work in the big scheme of things but hard work none the less...

I hunt a couple different places. I have one farm where if you cant drive to it the farthest drag would be a 100 yards to get a truck to it, another farm where the average drag is 1/2mile and can be as long as 1.5 miles and another spot where it can only be a 100yard max and most of the drags are less then 50yards.
Some days its all to easy and other days..... well you can imagine.

As for myself It depends where the deer heads to. It could be a 400 yard drag or allot longer then that. All by hand also.

It averages about 2 miles here with anything from 1000 - 2500' elevation loss. So my "drag" is approximately 50 feet from where they drop and I gut them to where I butcher them and load them in my pack. The only reason I drag them at all is to get away from the gutpile in case a bear shows up while I'm butchering it. That at least distracts them long enough to get the $*#& out of there.

If it dies where i shoot it, right at around 1200 yards. No ATV access allowed in WV inour WMA's. I hunt mostly public land. I usually boat in, then walk the 1200 yards from there
