I use a very similar sight from HHA. I love it. I have it dad on at 30 yards and knowhold a litlte low at 10-15 and a little high out to 40. I dont ever move the pins since i wont hunt with it farther then 40 yards and that is a very rare shot.

I use a cobra single pin slider and love it. I shoot to 30 yds with no problems. 15 yds is about a inch high and 30 yds may be a inch low but not enough to mess with. 35 yds I hold just below the back bone and 40 yds just above the back bone. But hte nice this is that when you do have to aim high like that the verticle pin makes it nice for keepin your arrow aligned left to right b/c you just put the post just behind the fron shoulder.

Well, if you're that scatter brained......How do you manage to pick the correct pin?
All I ever need is the top one. It doesn't move. If the deer is far enough away that I need anything other than the top one.... then I've got time to think about it. Besides they are color coordinated... and its a lot easier to make an adjustment from 20 pin to 30 pin than it is to try and move a slider at full draw... unless you have one of those Impact sights... no thanks.

I like the idea of the single pin.... but forgetting to move that thing, or hell even check it in a relaxed setting like the yard.... makes me nervous.... know thy self....
I understand what yer saying, I was merely poking a little fun at ya. The yardage markers on my single pin are color coordinated...I just don't like multi pins because of the cluttered sight picture. I leave my slider set at 27 yards for hunting. I am 1 1/2" high at 20 yards, and 1 1/2" low at 30 yards. So any shot I get out to 30 yards, I hold center mass and let it fly. Simple. Don't even have to think about it until they get past 30 yards. Then of course, you've got 2 options. Move the pin, or hold high. I've never even shot at one past 28 yards, so I'm not too terribly worried about it.

I would expect nothing less!!!!

I'm a perfectionist I suppose. If I knew I was 1/2" high at 20 yards.... then I'd probably think about it too much and try and compensate. I might honestly just do better with auto pilot. I'll shoot it for a while more (I'll make dang sure I check where that slider is too) and see how I feel about it. I'm sure its probably jsut like a power setting on a rifle scope... gotta leave it on 3 or 4 all the time... because if you need more you'll probably have time to turn it up.

I'm like you..... my shots are nearly always under 20 yards... personal long is 32yards.... I tried one last year at 43 yards.... and i made a perfect shot.... problem was the deer was really at 31 yards..... and just like shooting last night I shot right over his back and had to go find my arrow in the woods!

Like Blakef said, once you make it your routine and get used to the sight you will always be aware of what that is set to. I recently switched to a 3 pin sight and I am seriously thinking of going back to an HHA or similiar. When I started using the single pin I flung my fare share over the target also. If your range is what you say it is you should really like the single pin. Good Luck.
