Default EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!

This has nothing to do with deer hunting. This past Thursday someone broke into my girlfriends house and cleaned her out. This happened in broad daylight. Thank God she was not home. I am posting this to both put everyone on alert and to ask for advice. Times are getting tougher and people are doing unheard of crimes and women most of the time the most vulnerable. PLEASE teach your wives, girlfriends, mothers, etc. how to shoot a handgun and protect themselves. My girlfriend is not a stranger to shooting a pistol but now she will not go into her own house without me present or until she purchases her own gun. I am pretty knowledgable about handguns but need advice on a high quality pistol for her to carry. She wants nothing smaller than a .40 cal and price is not an object when it comes to personal safety and reliability..........All comments welcome and hopefully this post will help others!!!!

I carry a Colt .38 Special. A very nice gun. Do you have a concealed carry law down there?

I put hundreds of rounds through a Glock every year with nearly no malfunctions. You can also get one that is compensated which will make it have nearly zero recoil.

Id go with either the 40 or 45 cal, a 44 may be a bit much for home protection but would deffinatly get the point across in a hurry, im sure shed be looking into something with a small frame and Taurus hage a very large selection of small frame, and medium frame revolvers.

Springfield Arms 40 cal is sweet! Vented to lessen recoil but LOUD! The Springfield Arms 45 cal is even better.

Agree - Taurus makes excellent defense sized hg's. We have a couple .357 Mag/ .38 Specials that are perfect for concealment and pack quite a punch. Plus there's nothing like the sound of a well built revolver as you pull back the hammer Best of luck to both of you as get things back to "normal".
